Irvine Nature Center, Urban Education Initiative, $10,000: Located just northwest of Baltimore, Irvine Nature Center is a leading environmental education center with 70,000 visitors a year. This funding will support the Center's Urban Education Initiative, engaging Baltimore City youth and families in the Center's nature activities.

College Girl, Inc., $5,000: College Girl Inc. serves young women in Baltimore City and Baltimore County by providing college readiness programming and mentoring from high school through college. General operating support will help the organization continue to grow its operations in the 2016-2017 school year.

Dyslexia Tutoring Program, $7,500: The Dyslexia Tutoring Program helps low-income children and adults throughout Maryland who are dyslexic or have a language-based learning difference to learn to read. This general operating support will fund tutor training, screenings, and programs.

Parks and People Foundation, BRANCHES Program, $10,000: The Parks & People Foundation is dedicated to supporting a wide range of recreational and educational opportunities; creating and sustaining beautiful and lively parks; and promoting a healthy natural environment for Baltimore. Program-specific funding for the BRANCHES Program will support youth employment and leadership development for Baltimore youth.

The Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County, $15,000: The Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County nurtures a caring community of donors committed to working together to make meaningful, lasting and positive change in Anne Arundel County. With support from local donors, the Community Foundation is building a permanent source of philanthropic dollars dedicated to addressing the county's changing needs. This capacity-building grant, made in partnership with the O'Neill Foundation, will help expand CFAAC's marketing and communications efforts through the hiring of new staff.

Youth Empowered Society, fiscally sponsored by Strong City Baltimore, $20,000: The Youth Empowered Society (YES) Drop-In Center is Baltimore City’s first and only drop-in center for homeless youth. General operating support will help sustain a safe space for youth who are homeless and between the ages of 14-25, where they can meet their basic needs and establish supportive relationships with peer staff and allies to help them make and sustain connections to long-term resources and opportunities.
