Twice a year, Believe Big spends a day at the Johns Hopkins Pediatric Oncology Unit in Baltimore, Maryland for Mug Painting. Funds from The Helen J. Serini Foundation were used to host one of these painting days earlier this year.
At this most recent painting at the Johns Hopkins Pediatric Oncology Unit, children were invited to interact with Believe Big staff and volunteers, their parents, and nurses to design and paint a mug while they waited for or received treatment. Each child donated a Believe Mug that will be given to patients in the adult oncology area, and each child in turn received a Believe Mug painted by Believe Big supporters in fun, kid-friendly designs (like jungle scenes, or animated characters from Frozen). Children of all ages participated and had fun with the activity.
A second Mug Painting at the same location is currently being planned.
Believe Big is a non-profit Christian organization founded by Ivelisse and Jimmy Page after her battle with Stage IV colon cancer. Established in 2011, Believe Big is bridging the gap between conventional and complementary medicine for fighting cancer. Believe Big provides patients with hope, help, and healing.
