All Saints Community Service and Development Corporation (Hoboken, NJ) - $25,000, Jubilee Center: All Saints Parish created the All Saints Community Service and Development Corporation in 1995 to help meet the social and economic needs of children and families. The Jubilee Center helps meet the needs of young people, providing academic support services as well as nutritious daily meals, health and wellness workshops, positive recreational activities, and a summer program.
Challengers Independent Living, Inc. (Baltimore County, MD) - $25,000, General Operating Support: Challengers Independent Living, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing independent life-skills services to teens and young adults who are living in long-term foster care.
Creating Communities Corporation (Annapolis, MD) - $2,125, Capacity Building Support: Creating Communities offers innovative Life Skills Through the Arts programs to Title I elementary, middle and high school students from low-income families in Annapolis and Anne Arundel County.
Community of Curtis Bay Association (Curtis Bay, MD) - $4,000, Youth Summer Camps: The Community of Curtis Bay Association is committed to promoting and protecting the beauty, safety, stability, cleanliness, and social and economic viability of the neighborhood by fostering alliances with the local residents, merchants, and government officials.
Courtney's House (Washington, DC) - $5,000, General Operating Support: Courtney's House was founded in 2008 by Tina Frundt, herself a survivor of domestic sex trafficking. Courtney's House searches for children who are being forced into prostitution on the streets, in brothels, strip clubs, private homes, and hotels; embraces survivors of sex trafficking and brings them into a safe environment where they and their families can heal, recover and develop hopeful, dignified and influential lives; and trains community officials and creates awareness of the reality of sex trafficking in neighborhoods across America to help stop these crimes from happening.
Enoch Pratt Free Library (Baltimore, MD) - $10,000, Family Reading Circles: The Enoch Pratt Free Library serves the residents of Baltimore with locations throughout the city, and the residents of Maryland as the State Library Resource Center. Their Family Reading Circles program allows families to take part in intergenerational reading groups that help strengthen reading comprehension and stimulate and generate engaging discussions.
Friends of Great Kids Farm (Baltimore, MD) - $15,000, General Operating Support: Friends of Great Kids Farm, Inc. was created to support and promote Baltimore City Schools’ Great Kids Farm. The Farm, occupying 33-acres of abundant fields and forest just west of the city, engages students with good food from farm to fork and prepares them to lead sustainability efforts in their communities.
Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake (Baltimore, MD) - $25,000, Career & Technical Education Programming: Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. Their Career and Technical Education program partners with Baltimore City Public Schools to provide job training opportunities to students participating in the carpentry vocation at Career and Technology Education (CTE) designated high schools.
Hampden Family Center (Baltimore City) - $15,000, After-School Youth Program: The mission of the Hampden Family Center is to enrich the lives of Hampden residents through education and professional support, and to encourage individual growth and community fellowship. The Family Center has served as a hub for community activities in Hampden for 22 years. The After School Enrichment Program provides engaging and exciting educational programming to community children.
Literacy Council of Frederick County (Frederick, MD) - $15,000, General Operating Support: The Literacy Council of Frederick County teaches adults the reading and other English language skills they need to provide for their families and contribute to the well-being and prosperity of the community.
Mariposa Parent Training Program (Baltimore, MD) - $3,000, Capacity Building: Mariposa Child Success Programs, originally The Institute for Family Education, was established in 2002 as a non-profit organization. IFE’s initial programming was focused on improving intra-family relationships. Recognizing how much time children spend with other adults at schools and in other settings, IFE expanded into providing workshops for childcare professionals, therapists and teachers. In doing so, IFE found that training parents, teachers, and counselors in parallel provides improves everyone’s effectiveness in fostering healthy growth in children.
National Aquarium (Baltimore, MD) - $5,500, Aquarium on Wheels Program and Henry Hall Summer Camps: The National Aquarium's mission is to inspire the conservation of the world’s aquatic treasures. In doing so, the aquarium has motivated thousands of Marylanders to appreciate and protect the delicate habitats in their own backyards. The Aquarium on Wheels Program participants learn about marine science and how it is applied in the Aquarium’s Conservation Education Department. Students put their knowledge to practical use, working in the Aquarium’s galleries, presenting education programs at Enoch Pratt Free Libraries in the summer, participating in eco-field trips and conservation events. The Henry Hall program provides exciting excursions and educational and career opportunities for students interested in marine and environmental science.
Paul's Place (Baltimore, MD) - $7,500, Ambassador Volunteer Program: Paul’s Place is a catalyst and leader for change, improving the quality of life in the Southwest Baltimore communities. Paul’s Place provides programs, services, and support that strengthen individuals and families, fostering hope, personal dignity and growth. Their Ambassador Volunteer Program offers adults, typically those in early recovery, individuals with limited employability, and/or senior citizens opportunities to increase their self-esteem, responsibility, and skills for employment while responding to the needs of Paul’s Place and the community.
Rob's Barbershop Community Foundation (Annapolis, MD) - $3,000, Phoenix Academy Barbershop Location: Rob's Barbershop Community Foundation supports projects that improve the grooming, hygiene and well-being of target populations who lack access to regular personal care products and services.
St. Coletta of Greater Washington (Washington, DC) - $10,000, Healthy Lunch Program: The mission of St. Coletta of Greater Washington is to serve children and adults with intellectual disabilities and to support their families.
St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore (Baltimore, MD) - $2,000, Summer Camps for Baltimore County: Since 1865, St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore has served people in our community who, for whatever reason, are being pushed, pulled, swayed or dragged down by poverty. Our goal is to help each person, and our community as a whole, to move beyond poverty and achieve a better future for all.
YMCA of Frederick County (Frederick, MD) - $15,000, Reach and Rise Youth Mentoring Program: The YMCA of Frederick County works to strengthen and enrich the development of individuals and families. The Reach and Rise Youth Mentoring Program pairs mentors with young adults, providing quality time with a mentor to help improve the mentee's academic performance, self-esteem, decision-making skills, and relationships with peers and family.
